Monica is a PhD Candidate in the Corcoran Department of History, a 2017-2018 Praxis Fellow in the Digital Scholars' Lab at UVA, and an associate editor for Essays in History.
Monica's dissertation, “From Segregation Academies to School Choice: The Post-Brown History of School Privatization” examines the role of race, region, and capital in the post-war movement to provide public funding for private education in America.
